Morehead State takes home their first 1st place finish of the season as the women's team wins their season opening tournament.

The Women's Team traveled to Campbellsville, Kentucky on Saturday, September 16th to participate in their first collegiate tournament of the season: The Green River Classic. Hosted by Campbellsville University, the women's side of the tournament had representative teams from 11 total collegiate programs and nearly 100 total women bowling.

The girls sat in 3rd place after the first day consisting of 5 individual games with a total of 4138 pins. MSU also had two team members make the All-Tournament Team (Top 5 individual averages for the tournament):: Freshmen bowlers Amy Fortuna and Courtney Chaffin, finishing 4th and 5th overall respectively. Senior Carlie Sawyer was not far behind them, finishing in 7th place overall for the tournament.

The girls bowled well during the second day consisting of 12 baker games and moved to second place until the very last baker game, shooting a fine 233 game to jump into first and take the victory.. Congratulations goes out to the MSU Women's team and to all of those who bowled great individually as well!
